Advertisements Getty Museum posted the tweet last week to share the challenge with its followers. The rules are pretty simple:
Choose your favorite artworkFind three things lying around your house⠀Recreate the artwork with those items
Even the museum posted a few examples under the original post to give people ideas and inspire them to share their own photos. And when the first results started coming in… Well, it just kept getting better.
Those who share their quarantine days with family members, partners or pets can, of course, include them as well. But for those who are in the quarantine alone, there are creative and downright hilarious ways of adding characters to your recreations. Here’s a couple of examples:

If you want to search for the artwork to recreate, you can find lots of paintings, drawings and other art in the Getty Museum’s collection. Of course, there are other free online galleries that you can browse through and you can find the list here. I was just thinking today how this must be the first year that there are no April Fools posts almost anywhere on the internet. And I believe that we need some humor to get through all this. This is why I liked this challenge so much: other than inspiring us to get creative, the results will undoubtedly make us laugh. So, browse the galleries and make your own versions of your favorite paintings, drawings or photos. Make yourself and others laugh.
